Do I have to be a “good” golfer to play? We welcome women of all skill levels. Ourladies league is to allow women the chance to golf while having fun. This is a great way to learn or improve your game of golf. All we ask is that your group keep up with the speed of play. (try not to have to have multiple groups waiting behind you) To help with speed of play, if you hit the ball 10 times on one hole and are not complete, we ask that you pick up your ball and take a 10.
Do I need to find a sub if I can’t golf? Nope! There is no penalty for not showing up. We just hope you will join us as often as you can!
Do I have to golf in a foursome? We encourage all women to golf in a threesome or foursome. **The Golf Course Management will NOT allow groups larger than 4! This allows for appropriate speed of play for all. If you are missing women from your group during a certain week, we ask that you try to find another group to pair up with.
What does a typical week look like? Each Tuesday, the course reserves either the front nine or the back nine (we switch each week) from 3:30pm till close for the women's league. However, if you can play/ participate in the league game at anytime on Tuesday. *Please call and schedule a tee time for each week. Please be prompt on showing up to your scheduled time or please call to cancel your tee time if you group can not play. Upon arrival, stop in the clubhouse to pay for your golf round, pick up the weekly game (one per group), and to pay the chip in pot (optional). You are then ready to golf!
What is the “chip in pot”? Each week, you can put a quarter in the “chip in pot” jar and sign your name. If someone chips it in the hole you win the pot of money. A chip-in is any shot that does not take place on the green that goes into the hole. The jar will continue to accumulate each week if there is not a winner. Please write “CHIP IN!” on your card if you have one. You will receive your prize money the following week.
Will there be prizes? YES! We love to celebrate the success women have in golf. Each week there will be a game for each group to play (again optional, but encouraged) and there will be one “challenge” on the course. This might be a long drive, longest putt, closest to a marker, or closest to the hazard without going in :).
When will I receive my prize? If you win the “weekly challenge,” a sleeve of balls & a drink ticket will be on the information table the following Tuesday. We will contact you (via text message) to verify what you would like for the drink special. Likewise, an envelope with your name will be left for you if you win the chip in pot. We will have prizes for EVERY hole the night of the diva dinner / scramble and the prizes will be awarded following dinner that night. Prizes for the weekly games will be awarded the night of our group banquet at the end of the season.
What is the Diva Dinner? Once a month (June and July), we have a shotgun start and each group will play a best ball scramble. We will have a “challenge” on every hole. At the end of the round we all have dinner together at the clubhouse to socialize and give away more prizes!
Is there food and beverages available each week? There is a limited menu of food (hot dog, brats, pizza, chips, candy bars, etc) and a drink special each week for the ladies. We encourage you to socialize before and/or after your round. This is also a great time to meet other women in the league! *Please no carry on of food or beverages.
What are some other misc things I should know?
At the end of the season, we get together and do a group banquet. We look back at each week and celebrate the winners of each group game and reflect on the past season. There are lots of prizes to be won at this event too!
Turn in your scorecard or game sheet to the pro shop attendant at the end of your round each week.
Please keep speed of play, be on time for your tee times, and no more than 4 in a group.
Please circle birdies on your scorecard and indicate a “chip in” on your scorecard when appropriate.
